The 2025 IFM-SEI Congress has been a key moment for our movement: full of debates, decisions, and the collective energy of all our member organisations coming together!

✅ New members join the IFM-SEI family
The Congress approved several resolutions, including welcoming Construyendo Bolivia and The Vision as new member organisations. Welcome to the family!

✅ Membership resolutions
Delegates also voted on a resolution regarding the expulsion of organisations not up to date with their membership fees — but in the end, no organisations were expelled.
However, another resolution led to the expulsion of Hashomer Hatzair and NOAL.

✅ Next IC and new structures
The decision on where to host the next International Committee (IC) has been postponed, allowing more time for thoughtful planning.
Meanwhile, the Congress approved the creation of important working group and new strategies:

  • Oversee membership fees
  • Promote peace education
  • Develop an anti-racism policy
  • Draft new rules for the EC (Extraordinari Congress) and EIC (Extraordinari International Committee)

✅ Presidium and Control Commission
The Presidium was ratified with its current members, and two new members joined the Control Commission to strengthen oversight and transparency. We, however, say goodbye to Babacar Touré from Pioneers du Mali, who has been a Presidium Member for the last 6 years. We are very greateful for your commitment and work, Babacar. We hope to see you soon. Meanwhile, we wish you the best!

✅ A new Secretary General!
We are thrilled to announce that IFM-SEI once again has a Secretary General. Delegates voted unanimously for María Felisa Gómez Mora to take on this important role. Congratulations, Marifé!
The Presidium will formally ratify her appointment in the coming months, but we are already celebrating this exciting step forward.
