Kids Got Rights! International Kids Hubs
April 15-18 Döbriach, Austria
The Kids Got Rights! Project recently held their International Kids Hubs meeting in Döbriach, Austria. Here, the Kids Got Rights! Superheroes and officers came together to discuss how to promote children’s rights and play games to get to know each other better. During the weekend, the participants worked together to create sample posts for their upcoming social media campaign. To help everyone navigate the language barriers, the superheroes began by thinking of ways to be inclusive and patient with each other.
“Your voice is as important as everyone else’s”
The weekend was full of activities in the countryside of Austria. Together, the superheroes thought of innovative ways to challenge threats to children’s rights and develop complaint procedures for when these rights are violated. The superhero children demonstrated these through a silent theater.
Later, the superheroes worked in their national groups to come up with ways they could spread these messages. After developing these posters, everyone was able to share the work that their group had created.
“We’re the next generation”
To wrap up, everyone was able to share food and games from their own countries before saying goodbye until eventually meeting again in England this summer. Stay up to date with the social media campaigns and project updates by following @ifmsei on all platforms ❤️
