Today is the World Day of Social Justice, we celebrate this day while the world is suffering from the Covid-19 pandemic and all the uncertainty that accompanied it since its start.
We believe that the pandemic only emphasizes our values and principles to fight capitalism and enhance social justice to reach full and equal participation of all groups in the society. We want to live in a society that guarantees fair outcomes for all, social protection, social dialogue, and fundamental principles and rights at work.
“Nowhere is there a more intense silence about the reality of class difference than in educational settings.” – Bell Hooks.
IFM-SEI work, principles, and aims commit to achieve social justice and to “fight for alternative economic models that will bridge the gap between rich and poor and emphasize solidarity, dialogue and partnership. IFM-SEI undertakes critical education to understand the mechanisms behind capitalist systems and advocates for an alternative system, as we are only able to eradicate all forms of exploitation and end poverty once capitalism is defeated. We aim to include everyone in our activities no matter their economic means.” (IFM-SEI Constitution 2019)
Social Justice is the base of our values and principles in IFM-SEI. We speak for equitable distribution of resources, and the principles of peaceful, prosperous, safe and equal societies. IFM-SEI’s projects take social justice at its core and practice, this is reflected in our past and current projects. This year we will focus on bridging the gap between different marginalised groups in our societies, and youth, children, and adults, as well as on connecting the local work with the international work. This will happen through the variety of educational projects we are implementing in the coming two years.
