We,

Member of the African Falcon Network (AFN), a regional network of the International Falcon Movement-Socialists Educational International (IFM-SEI)  heard with great regret the bombing perpetrated by Morocco Armed Forces on strategic sites in Western Sahara on the morning of Friday, November 13, 2020.

This targeted attack affected mainly women civilians, young people … and causing enormous material damage. This is a clear attack of children and human rights and violating safety children should grow up in.

This military attack is a flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement obtained by the United Nations; an attack on the territorial integrity may put into question the treaties and agreements obtained to maintain peace and stability in the region.

AFN / IFM-SEI calls upon the Moroccan government to have a high sense of responsibility at the cessation of fire and compliance with signed agreements and treaties.

We also call upon International bodies and governments, to advocate dialogue beyond arms between Morocco and Western Sahara officials, start an international inclusive mediation, and opening of an Independent International investigation.

AFN / IFM-SEI condemns with the utmost rigour the use of heavy weapons by Morocco Armed Forces on strategic targets in Western Sahara and calls upon the Sahrawi people not to give in to violence or amalgamation.

AFN / IFM-SEI wish quick recovery to those injured and stands in solidarity with the people of Western Sahara.

Issued, on November 17, 2020

Africa Presidium Member
