From June to September, more than 130 summer activities such as hiking trips and international exchanges have taken place in our summer camps. Sixty-four esplais with more than 4,000 young participants joined these intense activities in nature with full of excitement. Living together with the group in nature allow us working intensively and vividly on the course objectives, while also showing values such as personal autonomy, teamwork, responsible consumption and respect for young people. The most preferred destinations chosen for summer activities by the esplais are in the counties of Berguedà, L'Empordà, and Osona.
Summer camps are always the most popular choice for the esplais. This year we organised 96 camps for children and young people. Hiking trips are the second most attractive selection of activities. In total, we organised 33 hiking trips for our members. Amongst these trips, 13 of them were organised outside Catalonia in the Balearic Islands, the Basque Country, Asturias, Portugal and Slovenia. International activities always work out very well. These activities include themes such as networking, intercultural learning, the gender perspective, and art.
In these activities, our children and young people discover new corners of the world, new perspectives and surely new friends. Whatever activity the esplai chooses to do, summer activities are the most important ones and every year we all wait for them very eagerly.
