The 10th edition of YO!Fest (Youth Opinion Festival), Europe's biggest youth political festival took place on 1-2 June in Strasbourg, France. As well as running several workshops at the event, IFM-SEI delegation was part of the festival!

This event was organised by the European Youth Forum and combines debates, workshops, talks, exhibitions, and performances to celebrate what it means to be a young European.

There were five hubs at the event: Keeping up with the Digital Revolution, Staying Alive in Turbulent Times, Working out for a Stronger Europe, Protecting our Planet and Calling for a Fair Share. IFM-SEI ran workshops under the Calling for a Fair Share hub running activities covering migration, prevention of sexual violence and the effects of climate change.

Check out the European Parliament website for more info and the report of the event!

From our participants

The European Youth Event was great. The seminars and public spaces within the European Parliament have invited young people to talk to each other and discuss Europe's future. The creative ideas from discussions and debates were inspiring for the work in my own organization. You get a feeling that as young Europeans we have wishes for the future and want to fight for it. It was particularly motivating for the next election to deal with current political papers and attitudes. Overall, the YO festival has helped to connect, shape and develop young people. I would like to visit it again!

YO!Fest was a great experience overall! I really enjoyed meeting and being part of a team of people from all across Europe. It gave me the knowledge of running a workshop at an international event as well as the opportunity to attend many other interesting workshops. Through this I met lots of new people and discovered new skills.

YO!Fest was a really interesting experience meeting young people from around the EU. It was great to spend time with such a varied group of people, including those with very different interests to myself, and those who I disagreed with but was able to engage in debates with.
