The Assembly of Youths for a Sustainable Environment and Development (ASYOUSED) was founded in 2007 to work for sustainable personal and community development. The main focus is on human rights, democracy, environmental conservation, and community health.
Action Enfance works for the recognition of the rights of the child based on the principles of equality, solidarity and democracy. It assists deprived children, provides leisure time activities and helps children and young people to take care of themselves and their surroundings. AES conducts advocacy, empowerment sessions, intercultural exchanges, camps and weekly meetings.
The Organization for Gender, Civic Engagement and Youth Development (OGCEYOD) is based in Limbe, Cameroon and works with young people and women. Its main aims are empowering young people and women, poverty alleviation, ensuring environmental sustainability and educating and sensitising the population on important topics like HIV/ AIDs and human rights.
The Patsimeredu Trust uses performing arts as a development communication strategy. It advocates for young peoples rights and access to support and health services. Since 2002, it has contributed to widespread social development in different communities and provinces of Zimbabwe through edutainment films and participatory theatre for development.
Pionniers du Mali
The Pioneers of Mali aim to complete family and school education by offering healthy recreational activities, ensuring moral, civic, patriotic and physical development of young people and preparing young people to lead an active life. APM promotes selflessness in the interest of community and citizenship and promotes ecological activities for everybody’s best interests.
Pionniers du Sénégal
MNPS educates young people on the values of liberty and of tolerance based on socialist ideals. They organise summer camps to introduce children to community life and to fight prejudices and stereotypes. The issues of children’s rights and the preservation of the environment are also at the heart of their educational project.
UJSARIO (Unión de la Juventud de Saguia el Hamra y RIo de Oro) was founded in 1984 and is the Saharawi youth organization. It operates from the Sahrawi refugee camps in Tindouf, Algeria, organizing youth and students within the exile community, and promoting the interest of the youth within the POLISARIO and the Sahrawi republic.
Youth Advocates Ghana
The young people of YAG raise awareness of child sexual abuse, volunteer in schools, churches and communities to advocate for the protection of children. The main issues are sexuality education, civic participation and mentorship programmes.
Youth for Behaviour Change (YOBEC) is dedicated to creating a better future through education, advocacy, youth empowerment, and peace-building in Liberia after it was ravaged by a 14-year civil war. Its activities include advocacy for children’s rights against child labour and child sexual exploitation.
