For up to one year, 24 young people from our member organisations moved to another country to volunteer in another member organisation. During the year, they shared their thoughts and experiences on a blog.
Each year, the Hashomer Hatzair movement convenes a conference. The conference is a peak event that is part of an educational process with thousands of members of the movement. In 2014, our annual theme is gender equality.

The National Movement of the Senegalese Pioneers held their 14th national conference from 30 May to 1 June 2014 in Dakar. The theme of the conference was ‘pioneer values in changing times for youth’. The conference led to a change of statutes, and a new and younger leadership.
The motto of the recent campaign of Austrian Kinderfreunde and Rote Falcon is ‘Verändern wir die Welt’ (‘Let’s change the world’) and this is the basic idea: Every branch, group, section or unit of the organisation should think about what they are bothered by in their direct environment, what could be done better and how to make this whole world at least a bit more child-friendly.
Two months long, 9 young people from Germany, Spain and Portugal, together with local Latvian volunteers, provided leisure activities for children, organising summer classes, games, outdoor activities and more.
Every year on the 20th November – the ‘birthday’ of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) – the Austrian Kinderfreunde and Rote Falken run activities on that topic. This year – as it is the 25th birthday – we want to reach out to as many people as possible with the information that children’s rights exist and that there is still quite some work to do to really put them into reality.

UN statistics state that at least one third of all women of the world have been subject to gender related violence at least once in their lives.
