On The Move - Africa Region

When: 12-19 November 2017

Where: Nsawam, Ghana

Who: 3x members each from Youth Advocates Ghana, Pionniers du Senegal, Pionniers du Mali and Girls Excel (Cameroon)

The penultimate activity of the global project On The Move, will see members from the African partner organisations of the project come together to put the learning from the project in action in a regional context. Participants will explore topics such as intercultural learning, youth mobility and regional youth work, visa tips and tricks, fundraising strategies and project planning in action.

On The Move - Latin America

When: 14-21 January 2018

Where: Lima, Peru

Who: 3x members each from Los Cachorros (Peru), MILAVF (Nicaragua), Mirim Brasil and Nueva Generación (Bolivia)

The final activity of the global project On The Move, will see members from the Latin America partner organisations of the project come together to put the learning from the project in action in a regional context. Participants will explore topics such as intercultural learning, youth mobility and regional youth work, visa tips and tricks, fundraising strategies and project planning in action.

International Winterschool 2017/2018 "Fighting Racism- Engaging for Diversity"

When: 27 December 2017 – 03 January 2018

Where: Kurt Löwenstein Haus, Werneuchen (near Berlin, Germany)

Who: 80-100 participants from IUSY, YES and IFM-SEI

Racism is becoming more accepted and visible in our world - it has been confirmed in the recent election motivations and results in different countries all over Europe. During our international Winterschool we are going to analyse, discuss and reflect on different aspects and components of racism. We are going to explore the topic from the perspective of Marxist theories and reflect on the connection between racism and capitalism. We are going to use different theories, tools and educational methods in order to look at racism within our societies and communities, exploring the structure behind it. Besides sharing work and lots of political debates, we will not forget to have fun together, self-organized by the participants. We will spend as well a day in Berlin and will celebrate together NEW YEARS EVE in our Education Center.

 

Queer Easter 2018

When: 23rd March 2018 - 2nd April 2018

Where: Kurt Löwenstein Haus, Werneuchen (near Berlin, Germany)

Who: 80-100 participants from IUSY, YES, IFM-SEI and other socialist LGBTQI organisations

Members from IFM-SEI, YES and IUSY will come together during a week for the biggest socialist, educational LGBTQI event in Europe! This year's theme is to look at solidarity vs. segregation inside the LGBTQI community. More information will come soon.

IFM-SEI Presidium - April 2018

When: 11-14 April 2018

Where: Vienna, Austria 

Who: Elected IFM-SEI Presidium members and Chair of Control Commission

One of the three face-to-face Presidium meetings of the year, where the IFM-SEI Presidium discuss strategic direction, financial management, organisational accountability, membership issues and other governance-related topics. 

IUSY Study Session 2018

When: 22-28 April 2018

Where: European Youth Centre Budapest

Who: European IFM-SEI members aged 18-35

IFM-SEI members are invited to join the upcoming study session of the International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY) as a fraternal partner organisation. The study session 'Equality starts with us! Youth promoting inclusive societies and global citizenship and opposing violent extremism' will look at how youth participation can foster inclusivity and inclusive societies and how internationalism can promote togetherness and combat radicalisation as a result of exclusion.

More information will follow in early 2018.

Yo!Fest 2018

When: 1st and 2nd June 2018

Where: Strasbourg (around the European Parliament)

Who: more than 8,000 people aged between 16 and 30 from any EU member State or another European country. 

The European Parliament offers once more a unique opportunity for young Europeans to make their voices heard and to come up with innovative ideas for the future of Europe. Participants will get the chance to discuss them with political decision-makers and inspiring personalities on the European stage. EYE2018 includes a wide range of activities in English, French and German run under the motto "The plan is to fan this spark into a flame." (Hamilton, My Shot). The activities centre around five main themes:

  1. Young and old: Keeping up with the digital revolution
  2. Rich and poor: Calling for a fair share
  3. Apart and together: Working out for a stronger Europe
  4. Safe and dangerous: Staying alive in turbulent times
  5. Local and global: Protecting our planet

International Summerschool 2018

When: August 2018 (TBC)

Where: Kurt Löwenstein Haus, Werneuchen (near Berlin, Germany)

Who: 50 participants from IUSY, YES and IFM-SEI

Join us in the most iconic "small" international semminar from the Kurt Löwenstein Haus (KLH). 50 young people will come together to debate and learn together but also to have a lot of fun with the different leislure activities such the summer campfire. This edition's theme is going to be organising activism and community building. Mre information will come soon.

 

Participation Island - Nuoret Kotkat 75 years Jubilee Camp 2018
